Where are you from?
Although I was born in New Jersey, my family moved to Phoenix before I was two years old so Arizona is all I’ve really known. That almost sounds like a bad thing, but I really couldn’t have asked for a better place to grow up. I was provided with so many great opportunities like being able to lead worship in the Student Ministries at Highlands Church with Kyle McLain, getting heavily involved in clubs at school like YoungLife and the Photography Club, all while being a barista and working on my own music in between. I decided that I would attend GCU for my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies after graduating from Pinnacle High School so I can continue to pursue my call to being in ministry while staying in the state I love. I am expected to graduate in April 2022 and then attend the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe for Audio Engineering.
Tell us about your family
My immediate family consists of me, my parents Chris and Jenny, my twin sister Maddie who attends NAU, and my younger sister Caroline who attends U of A. Having a twin has always been so cool and with Caroline there as well, there was never a dull moment growing up. It has been so nice to have all of us within driving distance so it’s not a hassle to see each other every once in a while. I’ve always been close with everyone in my family so I’m dreading when the time comes that we all aren’t living in the same state.
What do you like to do for fun?
My greatest passions would have to be music and concert photography for as long as I can remember. That being said, most of my free time outside of school and work is spent producing music in my bedroom and going out to take photos at concerts of my favorite bands. Over the past few years, I’ve dabbled in a few genres including Pop and EDM, but Alternative Rock will always be my favorite type of music to make.
What is your favorite part of work at the church?
My favorite part of work at the church would probably have to be the journey getting here. Having known Kyle McLain since middle school as my pastor/mentor and playing on the student worship team with him at Highlands Church, it blows my mind that I now have the opportunity to do ministry with someone who has made a huge impact in my life, especially in the heart of the Valley. Serving at PBC with Kyle has been such a blessing and sheer fact that I get to geek out on the things I already love to geek out on (music, audio/visuals, and of course, Jesus!) all while be surrounded by my closest friends and mentors is something I think I’ll always think is too good to be true.
